Why should I consider being a mentor?
We seem to have lost something over the last generation or two in society. Our communities aren't quite as tight knit and our youth don't always have a chance to get to interact and learn from their elders / kaumatua.

That's why we started the Live Life Programme, to find those who could most benefit from mentoring and give them the reason to connect with an elder in the community who can be a stable & supportive role model.

What skills do I need to be a mentor?
Being a mentor is pretty simple. All you need is to:
Have an hour or two a week to give to a young person
Be a good listener and provide advice and encouragement when the time is right
Be consistent so they know you are there to support them on their journey
Have flexibility and patience as you start to develop a relationship with your mentee
